You are cordially invited to attend 8th Biennial Heart Valve Biology and Tissue Engineering Meeting. After the unfortunate cancellation of the 2016 meeting, due to the effect of Hurricane Matthew on the Sea Pines Resort in South Carolina, we will be returning to London for the 2018 meeting, where the meeting was previously held in 2004 and 2014. This meeting will however have a new venue - the Royal Society of Medicine, which is in the heart of the shopping district of central London.
The field of heart valve biology and tissue engineering continues to expand, with new advances in understanding the function of cells within the valve and their role in the calcification process. Significant strides are being made in towards delivering tissue engineered valves to the clinic. This progress has been made due to the multi-disciplinary approach taken by many laboratories within the research community, which involves biologists, engineers, material scientists and clinicians working together in multi disciplinary teams.
This meeting will provide a forum to report and discuss the most recent advances in the field in an environment that will foster interaction and collaboration between different laboratories on a scientific and social level. There will also be a number of keynote speakers to give thought provoking insights into the use of novel technologies and clinical issues. There will be an opportunity for early career investigators to present their work as oral and moderated poster presentations.
We encourage you come and contribute to the meeting and help make the 8th Biennial Heart Valve Biology and Tissue Engineering Meeting the most engaging and informative meeting in the series, at a scientific and social level.
We look forward to seeing you in London!
